  • Goldrush ‘Jingle Bell Jam’ Concert: Something New For The Holiday Festival

    Goldrush, a local progressive bluegrass group, will add its contemporary sound to the usual holiday music that fills the first weekend of December in Newtown each year, with the new Jingle Bell Jam concert, Saturday, December 6, in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall. From 7 to 8 pm, concertgoers will be treated to classic holiday songs “with a Goldrush flair,” promised Mary Beth Sippin, the band’s founder.

    *TOWER OF POWER will be at The Palace Theater in Waterbury on Saturday, April 27, at 8 pm.

    Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online at www.PalaceTheaterCT.org, by phone at 203-346-2000, or in person at the box office, 100 East Main Street in Waterbury.

    A special VIP ticket package is also available for $75, which includes orchestra seating and admission to a pre-show reception featuring appetizers, stuffed breads, mini pizzas, stuffed mushrooms and tortellini by D’Amelios Italian Eatery.

  • "Random Acts Of Music" At Edmond Town Hall, April 12; Benefit Event For HealingNewtown

    Newtown Cultural Arts Commission and HealingNewtown Arts Space has announced “Random Acts of Music,” a benefit concert to support The HealingNewtown Project.

    The concert will be Friday, April 12, beginning at 7 pm. It will be performed in Edmond Town Hall Theatre, 45 Main Street in Newtown.

    Featured performers will include Boplicity, Brett Boles, Mary Beth Sippin & The Goldrush Band, Smokebomb Mondays, The Newtown High School Jazz Ensemble and The Newtown High School Singers.
