  • Mark Phillip Todd, Sr

    Mark Phillip Todd, Sr, 47, of Newtown died July 27. He was born October 5, 1967, in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and was the son of the late Bennie Todd and Mary Mungo Todd.

    His daughter, Cynthia Todd, and son, Mark Todd, both of Southbury; a brother, Artie Todd of South Carolina; two sisters, Carol Reid and Sandra Todd, both of California; two grandchildren, Emma Vandermeersch and Alex Aponte; and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Christie of Brookfield, survive Mr Todd. 

  • Charles Scott Spath, Sr

    Charles Scott Spath, Sr, 73, of Holmes Beach, Fla., died April 2. He was the husband of Jeanne Anne Kadric Spath of Trumbull. He was born November 1, 1941, in Bridgeport, Conn.

    His loving wife; his children and their spouses, Charles S., Jr and Susan Spath of Newtown, Kristen A. and Brad Wise of Goffstown, N.H., Karin P. and Scott Hemenway of Hillsborough N.H., and Jason and Cara Spath of Southbury; and his devoted brother, Peter A. Spath, survive Mr Spath.

  • Richard M. Liska, Sr

    Richard M. Liska, Sr, 84, of South Thomaston, Maine, died peacefully at home April 4. He was born July 23, 1930, in Stepney, Conn. 

  • Gerald E. Mullins, Sr

    Gerald E. “Moon” Mullins, Sr, 85, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died March 22, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Stamford, April 26, 1929, and was the son of the late John and Delia Beirne Mullins.

  • Augustine J. Palmieri, Sr

    Augustine J. Palmieri, Sr, 89, of Stratford died March 3 at his home. Better known as “Gus,” he was born in New Haven, May 24, 1925, a son of the late Rose and Augustine Palmieri. He was the beloved husband of Ann Costa Palmieri for 63 years. Mr Palmieri lived in Trumbull for 35 years, where he worked and raised his family before moving to Stratford.

  • John Victor Polvere, Sr

    John “Jack” Victor Polvere, Sr, 81, of Southbury, formerly of Bridgeport and Shelton, died unexpectedly January 15. He was the beloved husband of Doreen (Norton) Polvere.

    Mr Polvere owned and operated World of Bikes in Newtown for 25 years, before retiring.

    He proudly served his country as corporal first class in the US Army during the Korean War.

  • Stephen J. Skudlarek, Sr

    Stephen J. Skudlarek, Sr, 92, of Milford, beloved husband of Mary Maguire Skudlarek for 66 years, died October 30. He was born in Southport, December 26, 1921, to Joseph and Josephine Short Skudlarek.

  • Robert L. Keller, Sr

    Robert L. Keller, Sr, 84, of Danbury, died peacefully October 6, surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1930, in Port Chester, N.Y., and was the son of the late Edith "Sophie" Keller and Stanley F. Keller, Sr. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Dorothy F. (Lowden) Keller.

  • Joseph Harry Gillespy, Sr

    Joseph “Jack” Harry Gillespy, Sr, 78, a resident of Stratford for more than 40 years, formerly of Bridgeport and always a proud “South Ender,” died August 16 at St Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Bridgeport, a son of William J. and Catherine Weide Gillespy, and was the beloved husband of Kathleen Gillespy for 57 years.

  • William J. Chockey, Sr

    William J. Chockey, Sr, 70, of Fairfield died August 4. He was born in Bridgeport and served in the US Army in Vietnam.
