For the fifth year, kids and parents counted “bunnies” along trails at Glander Field on the Fairfield Hills Campus on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, for this year’s Bunny Watch.
The Bunny Watch was a fundraiser for and organized by the Newtown High School’s senior Odyssey of the Mind Team, coached by Robin Fitzgerald. The event raised money for the group to attend World Finals, which will be held at Michigan State University May 20–23.

Newtown students and jazz bands earned recognition while attending and participating in the University of New Hampshire’s Clark Terry Jazz Festival on March 14.

Newtown High School and members of the Newtown International Center for Education (NICE) welcomed 23 students and two teachers visiting with a delegation from Lycée Alain, Newtown’s sister school in France, on Wednesday, March 25.
The delegation arrived in the country just a few hours before entering the high school’s cafetorium, where host families through NICE, NICE members, and NHS teachers were waiting to greet the students and teachers.

The annual Bunny Watch event at Glander Field, off Mile Hill South at Fairfield Hills, is set for this Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4.
The Bunny Watch will run from 10 am until 4 pm on both days, rain or shine.

Newtown High School sophomore wrestler Anthony Falbo won a national championship during the weekend of March 27–29. Falbo claimed the 160 pound weight division title in the Sophomore Division of the 26th Annual National High School Coaches Association High School National Wrestling Championships, held at the Virginia Beach (Va.) Convention Center.
Falbo won a 6-4 decision over Brandon Kui of New Jersey in the finals after a 10-3 decision over Angel Solis of California in the semifinal round.

After arriving in Newtown on Sunday, March 15, a delegation of 21 students and two teachers were welcomed at Newtown High School on the morning of Monday, March 16, before starting a day of visiting the school.
The group, from the I.E.S. Las Encinas School, is visiting through the Newtown International Center for Education (NICE).

The Friday evening performance of Newtown High School’s City of Angels has been cancelled, due to the anticipated weather, according to Newtown High School.
The musical production of City Of Angels opened for audiences on Thursday, March 19, and is running through Sunday, March 22.
