  • "The Joy Of Art" Continues, Now At NCC

    "The Joy of Art," free art classes led by artist Joy Hoffman, have relocated to Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.
     
    Ms Hoffman has been leading classes in Newtown for the past two years. She began at C.H. Booth Library, and then collaborated with HealingNewtown.
     
    Although the HealingNewtown project has disbanded, Ms Hoffman continues to offer her free classes for children pre-K to eighth grade.
  • HealingNewtown Workshops, November 11-20

    The following workshops have been scheduled by HealingNewtown, which is set up at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street. Use the lower entrance to get to the HealingNewtown classrooms space.

    Programs are free, but reservations are requested. Visit HealingNewtown.org and click on Schedule to reserve space.

  • HealingNewtown Workshops, August 19-28

    The following workshops have been scheduled by HealingNewtown through the Arts.

    All workshops are free and are at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

    Weaving Workshop with Hanna Roehrs for adults will continue on Mondays, August 19 and 26, from noon to 3 pm. Beginners are welcome.

    The Joy of Art with Joy Hoffman will continue on Wednesdays, August 21 and 28. Sessions run from 11 am to noon and 1 to 2 pm for kindergarteners.

    The following workshops have been scheduled by HealingNewtown.

    All workshops are free and are being offered at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, where HealingNewtown recently opened a studio space. Access to the HealingNewtown area is through the lower rear entrance of the church.

    *The Joy of Art with Joy Hoffman will be Wednesday, June 5, 12 and 19, and every Wednesday throughout the summer, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

  • Joy Hoffman To Lead Workshops For HealingNewtown

    The Joy of Art with Joy Hoffman will be offered on Wednesdays, to June 19, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.

    Sponsored by HealingNewtown Arts Space, 60-minute workshops will be offered each week. Kindergarten students can attend the 11 am and/or 1 pm workshops, one or every week.

    Children will enjoy a chance to express their artistic talents freely while being guided through friendship bead making bracelets and necklaces, paper plate bugs, and other fun and lively arts and craft projects.

    Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC), the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, and The Connecticut Office of the Arts have come together to create HealingNewtown Arts Space at 5 Queen Street (next to Caraluzzi’s).
