Truck Hits Tree
Police report that truck driver Tyler Fairchild 25, of Northfield was driving an International 4300 box truck northeastward on Pond Brook Road, near Lake George Road, about 12:48 pm on November 13, when he slowed down due to a large vehicle that was approaching him from the opposite direction.
While the International was passing by the other vehicle, the International struck a large tree limb that was hanging over the roadway, police report.

Sugar Street DUI
Police said that at about 10:43 pm on October 2, they stopped motorist Dana Bennett, 68, of Monroe to investigate on Sugar Street, near its intersection with Key Rock Road.
Police said that they then charged Bennett with driving under the influence and with failure to drive to the right. Bennett was held on $500 bail for an arraignment on October 3 in Danbury Superior Court, police said.

On August 24, police said that they are investigating multiple vandalism incidents that had occurred during the preceding two weeks in the area of Hawthorne Hill Road/Saw Mill Ridge Road.
That property damage involved someone using spray paint to deface multiple vehicles and driveways.
Also, police said that overnight on August 23-24, someone using black spray paint defaced two vehicles that were parked near the Hawthorne Hill Road turnaround circle.

Police report that they responded about 4:16 am on May 6 to an incident that occurred on South Main Street, near Prospect Drive.
Police said motorist Brendan Brooks, 23, of 71 Main Street was driving an unspecified vehicle that struck a utility pole, after which he allegedly left the scene.

Police report that at about 10:30 pm on April 9, they were called to the intersection of Bayberry Drive and Lantern Drive concerning a one-vehicle accident that had occurred there.
On arriving, the person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the crash was no longer at the accident scene, police report.
The accident scene held evidence indicating that the driver had been injured, police said.

Berkshire Road Collision
A two-vehicle accident happened in a line of traffic on eastbound Berkshire Road near Newtown High School about 7:05 am on March 26, police report.
Police said motorist Herbert Flynn, 43, of 6 Watch Hill Road, who was driving a 2003 Subaru Legacy sedan, struck the rear end of a 2006 Ford Freestyle SUV driven by Carmela Luzi, 23, of Southbury.

Chrysler Hits Building
At about 8:17 pm on March 17, motorist William Velez, 17, of Trumbull was driving a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica SUV southward near 96 Great Ring Road, when the vehicle went off the left road shoulder and collided with a garage, heavily damaging the structure, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Velez a written warning for failure to drive to the right.

Police report a two-vehicle accident involving a coupe and a truck at the intersection of Mile Hill Road and South Main Street about 11 am on March 2.
The collision involved a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon coupe driven by Jillian Laub, 25, of 24 The Boulevard and a 1998 Freightliner truck driven by Wagner Motta, 56, of Bridgeport, police said.
