Alexa Schmid was a portrait of concentration as she worked on her first draft for her peace flag, May 7 at The Graceful Planet. The young artist was part of a group of people who joined Sandy Hook Peaceful Arts member Kim Hossler for the first of four workshops being offered this month at the Sandy Hook dance and moving arts studio.

“Are you staying for the flying?” she asked.
Kat Barton of A Graceful Planet and the Sandy Hook Peaceful Arts took part in a CircusYoga class Sunday, March 17, with instructors Kevin and Erin Maile O’Keefe.
“This is for fun, community play,” Ms Barton said.
Ms O’Keefe soon told participants who joined the class at Hawley School, “I can teach you to fly at home.”

Residents of all ages are invited to join CircusYoga, a special class being offered at Hawley School, 29 Church Hill Road, on Sunday, March 17.
CircusYoga is artfully designed to engage all ages. It blends the consciousness of yoga with the communal celebration of the circus. CircusYoga fosters connection, play, communication, and community.
The free class will run from 1 to 3 pm. Reservations are requested and can be done by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
