  • Picking Up The Tab

    To the Editor:

Last night about 10 of us wrestlers went to Cover Two in Sandy Hook after a great win. We all ordered food and had a great time chatting together.  At the end of dinner, we asked our waitress for our bills. Turns out a nice couple sitting at a table near us had paid for our entire bill, including tip!

They left without us saying thank you but we’d like them to know how grateful we are and we will pay it forward. Thank you.

  • Grapplers Sound Off On Potential Cut Of Wrestling From Olympics

Wrestling may soon lose some validity at a high level, and those involved in the sport locally recognize that there may be a trickledown effect. The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), on February 12, agreed on the 25 sports it will propose to the 125th IOC session for approval as the core sports for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games — and recommended that wrestling not be included, joining seven shortlisted sports.
