  • Sandy Hook Promise Helps Fund Resiliency Program

    Sandy Hook Promise, the national non-profit led by several families that lost a loved one in the Sandy Hook School shooting, recently donated $47,000 to help fund a year-long, four-phase resiliency program for members of the emergency response communities and their families.

    The program is organized by the Newtown Recovery and Resiliency Team and run by HEART 9/11, a group of 9/11 first responders that has helped other first responders, families, and communities heal and rebuild following tragedies.

    HARTFORD — Tim McGraw has announced that on Friday, July 17, at XFINITY Theatre in Hartford, he will hold a concert to benefit Sandy Hook Promise. One-hundred percent of the net proceeds of this event will support Sandy Hook Promise, founded in the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, with a mission of protecting children from gun violence.

  • Organizations Promoting National ‘No One Eats Alone Day’

    Sandy Hook Promise, the community organization founded in the days following 12/14, announced Monday, January 12, its partnership with Beyond Differences, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending social isolation in schools across the country. Together, they are promoting February 13 as National No One Eats Alone Day, and urging schools to participate in tackling the epidemic of social exclusion by holding lunchtime events at their schools with activities that encourage students to engage with one another.

    Sandy Hook Promise, the community organization formed in the days following 12/14, will premiere a new documentary tonight at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City. The documentary is part of a comprehensive educational effort designed to help parents protect children from becoming future victims of gun violence.

  • Celebrities Come Together To Help Sandy Hook Promise

    In advance of the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, musicians, celebrities and influential organizations are donating special items and experiences to benefit Sandy Hook Promise, in partnership with the luxury charity auction website CharityBuzz. The auction opened on  November 25, and will continue to accept bids through Thursday, December 18.
