Feinstein Leads Pack Of More Than 600 In Road Race
The fifth annual Newtown Road Race 5K and Edward Doherty Memorial Kids Run took place on September 4. Sandy Hook’s Jake Feinstein, 15, led a field of 608 finishers and won the 3.1-mile race in a time of 16:35.

Advanced Hitting Academy
The Newtown Parks & Recreation sponsored Advanced Hitting Academy will be held at the Newtown Middle School batting cage in Sundays September 12 through October 17. The academy, for ages 8-13, will be held from 9-11 am each Sunday. Directed by Matt Memoli, Newtown High School’s baseball coach, the clinic costs $200 per child.
