Newtown High School Principal Charles Dumais updated his blog on Tuesday, August 31, to announce school will start as expected on Wednesday, September 1, for high schoolers. A couple photos and one paragraph announced the passed inspection of Stairway 4, which if not completed in time could have postponed the first day of school.

Town Boards Slate A Joint Review Of School Enrollment Study
A joint meeting between the Board of Education, Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen, and Legislative Council could be scheduled for as soon as the second week in September to look at what school enrollment projections showing a possible 26.1 percent overall decrease in the next ten years could mean for the town as a whole.
