Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (SHOP) has unveiled plans for its Sixth Annual Halloween Walk. This year's event will take place in Sandy Hook Center on Saturday, October 29.

Businesses within Sandy Hook invite trick-or-treaters to the Halloween Walk from 11 am to 2 pm. Merchants will scare up a delightful array of in-store candy and other treats for kids dressed in costume.

Local children are invited to attend with parent or other adult, in their best, scariest, funniest, and creative Halloween outfits. The Sandy Hook business district offers a safe environment for children to trick-or-treat during the daylight hours. Decorations will be up and the businesses will be ready for the little pirates and princesses to pay them a visit.

Organizer Sharon Doherty, of PJ's Laundromat, said that last year's Halloween Walk had the largest turnout yet and she is excited to welcome old and new visitors back again this year.

"It's for the little kids and that's what it is all about. The little kids having a good time," said Ms Doherty.

"The Halloween Walk has been a very special local community event that attracts many families with young kids. It's a safe alternative to trick-or-treating because it's such a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood," she noted.
