Robert E. Barnes, 90, of Stratford, died July 15, at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr Barnes was born in Stratford and was a lifelong area resident.www.larsonfh.com.

His wife Faith Anderson Barnes, of Stratford; two sisters, Carol Brown of Newtown and Iris Robinson of Shelton; three children, Douglas and David Barnes, both of Florida, and Sandra Fleet of Barkhamsted; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive him.

Mr Barnes was the retired president of Bead Industries. He was a World War II US Marine veteran, and he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the Contemporary Club, Scandinavian Club, Gaelic American Club, the Model A Club of Fairfield County, Bridgeport Symphony, and the Oronoque Marine Corps League.

Friends are invited to attend Mr Barnes funeral on Thursday, July 21, at 10 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will take place in Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 20, at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 to 8 pm.
