To the Editor:

To all Bethel, Ridgefield, Redding, and Newtown voters, November 8th's Election Day allows us to decide which person we want to administrate our governments from presidential, congressional, state legislators, to Probate Court.

Connecticut's Probate Court is designed to serve the people on the foundation of service, integrity, and the rule of law. Normally, we think of the Probate Court in its tradition of overseeing decedents' estates and trusts. Yet there are times when the court must oversee issues concerning children, adoptions, the elderly, name changes, individuals with disabilities, and those with psychiatric disabilities.

Given the broad range of probate judge responsibilities, all voters must decide upon an individual who understands the depth of law as well as having the experience, integrity, and compassion for matters in Probate Court.

Dan O'Grady has been on the Probate Court for more than 20 years prior to the restructuring of the court by State of Connecticut. Dan has more than 30 years of experience as an attorney. He actively practices in all surrounding probate courts handling estates, trusts, and other matters. He is a member of many service organizations in our communities.

The Probate Court in our region needs an individual like Dan O'Grady whenever our citizens need to be involved in a probate matter. He has the experience, integrity, legal knowledge, and compassion in dealing with many issues in Probate Court.

Please join me in voting for Dan O'Grady for Probate Court on November 8.

Paul R. Szatkowski

Selectman, Town of Bethel

24 Winthrop Road, Bethel         October 24, 2016
