The 30th Annual Ram Pasture Tree Lighting is scheduled for the evening of Friday, December 5, at the Ram Pasture.

The ceremonies start at 6:30 pm, with the Christmas tree lighting expected to occur at about 7 pm. The Christmas tree is positioned near the intersection of Elm Drive and Hawley Road.

Police are notifying the public of road closures and parking bans that will be effect from 5 to 8 pm that night.

The section of Elm Drive which lies between its intersections with Sugar Street and Borough Lane will be closed to traffic. Only emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel on that road section, police said.

 Also, police are listing areas where vehicle parking will be prohibited:

*The section of Elm Drive lying between its intersections with Sugar Street and Borough Lane;

*Hawley Road;

*The section of South Main Street lying between its intersections with Borough Lane and Glover Avenue;

*The section of Sugar Street lying between its intersections with Main Street and Elm Drive; and

*The rear driveway to Town Hall South, which extends from Sugar Street.

Traffic signs, safety cones and barricades will be used to mark affected areas. Police will be stationed in the area to assist pedestrians and motorists. Motorists who violate the parking bans will be subject to having their vehicles towed, according to police.
