  • Rose Lillian Richardson Helsel

    Rose Lillian Richardson Helsel, 89, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully August 18 at the Kingston, N.Y., home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Richard Wade, with whom she lived for the past ten years. She was born March 1, 1925, to Lillian (Piesker) and Blaine A. Richardson, in Syracuse, N.Y.

  • Dorothy Kanuck Hydeck

    Dorothy Kanuck Hydeck, 86, of Trumbull, died August 22 in her home. She was born in Bridgeport, and was a longtime Trumbull resident. Survivors include her five children, Mark and Cathy Hydeck of Newtown, Lynn and David Pangburn of Oxford, Ronald and Michelle Hydeck of Milford, Michael Hydeck and Patricia Bocian of Stamford, and Robert Hydeck and Heather Bryant of Trumbull.

  • Ernest Perigyi

    Ernest “Bob” Perigyi, 86, a lifelong resident of Newtown, and a loving and dedicated husband to Maryann Csvihinka Perigyi for 65 years, died August 20 at his home. He was born in Bridgeport to Susan and Charles Pirigyi.

  • Arlene Stanley

    Arlene Stanley, 76, of Fairfield died peacefully August 20. Born in Camden, N.J., to Ann (Walsh) and Arthur Stanley, she was a longtime area resident.

  • Hugh Alexander Dignon

    Hugh Alexander Dignon, 78, of Newtown, and formerly of Brookfield, died August 20 at Danbury Hospital after complications arising from a stroke. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, May 16, 1936, to Jean (Kinloch) and Hugh Dignon, and moved to the United States in the early 1960s.

  • Clarence F. Schneider

    Clarence F. Schneider, 82, of Newtown died August 18 at his home. Born December 21, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the only son of Edith and Clarence Schneider.

  • William Sheldon Jarrett

    William Sheldon Jarrett, 87, of Heritage Village, Southbury, and former 30-year Newtown resident, died after a long affliction with Alzheimer’s disease, August 14. He was born May 25, 1927, in Livingston, N.J. He was the husband for 63 years of Francine Helen Snyder Jarrett and the son of the late LeGrand and Mary Sheldon Jarrett.

  • Benjamin C. Patt, Jr

    Benjamin C. Patt, Jr, 81, born October 4, 1932, lost his battle with cancer August 3, at Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fla. He was a longtime resident of Connecticut, living in Fairfield County for many years.

  • William Edward Roesch

    William Edward Roesch, 72, died peacefully August 9 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He was born in Bridgeport, the son of Rose and William Roesch.

  • Burton A. Corbett

    Burton A. Corbett, 80, of Southbury, and a longtime former resident of Newtown, died at New Milford Hospital August 9 after a brief illness. He was born August 12, 1933, in Ridgefield, son of Elsie (Coulter) and Arthur E. Corbett.
