    Maria Orama, 74, died October 17, at Vitas Hospice at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, May 27, 1939, daughter of Juan and Andrea Ruiz Cuevas, and was the beloved and devoted wife of Jose A. Orama, Sr.

    Anthony Widmann, 86, died October 11, at his home in Stratford. The son of Otto Oscar Widmann and Marian Meyers Widmann, he was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., but soon moved to Darien.

    Gerald J. Bowers, Sr, 70, of Stratford, died October 11, at Bridgeport Hospital. Survivors include a brother, Robert Bowers, of Newtown

  • Leslie V. Konneker

    Leslie V. Konneker, 66, of Newtown, died October 14, at home, surrounded by her loved ones and with a cat on her lap. She was the wife of Gregory P. Konneker. Ms Konneker was born January 31, 1947, in Bronxville, N.Y., a daughter of Charles and Irene (Vaughan) Towson. She grew up in the White Plains, N.Y. area.

  • Lissie Ingbritt Fagerholm

    Lissie Ingbritt Fagerholm, 76, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Carl A. Fagerholm, died due to complications from ALS, October 11, with her children by her side. Born in Väckelsång, Sweden, on August 15, 1937, to Karl Fransson and Anna Magnusson, she was raised on the family farm and immigrated to the United States as a teenager, after coming to visit relatives.

  • Erwin Thater

    Dr Erwin Thater, 89, of Newtown, died at his residence, October 10. Dr Thater was born in Ridgewood, Queens, N.Y., November 9, 1923. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Gordon) Thater. He was a resident of Newtown for the past two years, coming from Garden City, L.I., N.Y.

  • Keith D. Miller

    Keith D. Miller, 53, of Derby, died October 6, at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was born October 27, 1959, to Charles and Gertrude Miller.

  • John H. Will Jr

    John Henry Will Jr, 84, died on October 4, 2013. He was born April 26, 1929, in Danbury, the son of Margaret (Caroll) and John Will Sr. He is survived by five children, including John Will III of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren, including Katherine Will of Sandy Hook; a great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and visitors on Tuesday, October 8, from 4 to 7 pm, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street in Danbury. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Brookfield, at the convenience of the family.

  • Axel C. Tryde

    Axel C. Tryde, 96, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Georgetown, Conn., died peacefully September 13, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with his family at his bedside and his beloved sea outside his window. He was born in Grimstad, Norway, in 1917, and went to sea at the age of 14 with the Norwegian Merchant Marine.

    Frances M. Van Wart, 94, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, October 1, with her loving daughters at her bedside.
