Ingersoll Auto Breaks Ground On Updated Danbury Facility

Newtown resident Todd Ingersoll, dealer principal of Ingersoll Automotive, recently announced that a long-awaited expansion of his auto group in Danbury is beginning.

Ingersoll Auto of Danbury, which sells and services Chevrolet, Buick/GMC, and Cadillac, officially broke ground this week on the 20,000-square-foot addition to the dealership at 84 Federal Road in Danbury — the site of Connecticut’s tallest flagpole.

This thorough expansion, which effectively doubles the size of the current building, will incorporate all the latest innovations in technology, retail design, and state-of-the-art guest conveniences — with the sole purpose of elevating the guest experience.

Once construction is completed, there are plans to add at least a dozen new positions the 90 team members that are already employed at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury. With an ongoing commitment to use local businesses whenever possible, Newtown Savings Bank is providing the funding to complete the expansion.

“We’ve looked at the guest experience from all viewpoints, and the facility updates we are making will cater to our guests’ needs to provide the best dealership experience,” said Mr Ingersoll, president of both Ingersoll Auto of Danbury and Buick GMC of Watertown.

Designed by L & A Architects and Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac designers, and with construction by Rizzo Construction in Danbury, guests will notice a new, inviting exterior façade with updated signage, a bright and airy showroom, a fun and exciting children’s play area, a community conference room, and an expansive guest lounge — featuring free wireless internet access and complimentary coffee and snacks.

In addition, an onsite car wash and 40 service bays will also be part of the new building.

“Our onsite car wash will enable our service team to present our guests with a freshly cleaned vehicle immediately after being serviced,” Mr Ingersoll said in a release.

The expanded facility will include significant improvements designed to make the dealership more accessible and convenient for guests. As part of the unique Ingersoll Automotive ownership program, Ingersoll Auto of Danbury will provide guests with a courtesy loaner vehicle while their automobile is in for comprehensive service.

Ingersoll Automotive vehicle owners can also count on fully trained, certified technicians, GM’s five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and the safety and security of OnStar.

Outfitting of the new showroom will include:

*Photography highlighting elements in Cadillac’s Art & Science design philosophy

*Stainless steel and brushed aluminum finishes

*Precise, theatrical lighting to highlight the vehicles

*Expansion of guest waiting area, including new furniture

*A new coffee service for the café

*A community meeting room that will be available for community groups to sign out for use

*An updated playroom for the convenience of guests visiting with children

*An onsite car wash

*40 service bays

Mr Ingersoll resides in Newtown with his wife and three children. Before serving in the United States Navy, he grew up in Bethel and attended the Bethel Public School system.
