In recognition of Martin Luther King Day, Congregation Adath Israel will host a renowned Hartford gospel choir in the synagogue sanctuary. The performance will begin at 7:30 pm Friday, January 17.
Voices LLC of Hartford will perform at 115 Huntingtown Road to honor the legacy of the Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The entire community is invited.
The choir will take the stage at approximately 8 pm, following a traditional Hebrew prayers service that will begin at 7:30.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be invited to share our music with the Jewish community of Newtown at the Sabbath worship service,” said Paula B. Gripes, Voices business manager. “We feel the sharing of our traditions is a wonderful way to learn and to befriend our communities.”
Voices LLC is a highly renowned gospel group that has performed for a variety of prestigious organizations around the state of Connecticut, including the Black Catholic Ministries, American Diabetes Association, Connecticut Department of Children & Families, Connecticut Department of Public Safety. The mission of Voices mission is to intensify the loving power of God through music.
Refreshments will be served when the program ends at 8:45 pm.
