Upcoming Events At The SHACK (April 15-28)

Spring is finally here and event coordinators at The Sandy Hook Arts Center for Kids (SHACK) are gearing up to celebrate with special events.

The SHACK is an arts center working to bringing healing through the arts to the children of Sandy Hook and Newtown through art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy, and other creative mediums such as music, art, theater, dance, and more.

The SHACK is at 100 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook, in Suite 104 — the tan building that formerly housed the Life’s a Peach boutique.

The mission of The SHACK is to provide a safe haven for children and families to come to heal and explore various art forms while expressing themselves creatively in a nurturing, safe environment. Our educational and therapeutic programs are taught by board certified and licensed professional therapists.

The following events have recently been added to the arts center’s schedule. Please visit NewtownBee.com (search for The SHACK) for previously announced programs — including many that have been planned for April 15-19, when Newtown schools will be on April break — or SandyHookArtsCenter.org for a full list of upcoming events.

Reservations are requested for workshops, and can be done by sending an email to sandyhookartscenter@gmail.com. For additional information call 203-304-9555 or visit SandyHookArtsCenter.org.
