CVTU Planning 5th Annual Youth Education Day

The Candlewood Valley chapter of Trout Unlimited (CVTU) will present its 5th Annual Youth Education Day on Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. The event will take place at St John’s Episcopal Church in Sandy Hook, and across the road on the banks of the Pootatuck River.

The event offers an opportunity to teach a child about coldwater conservation, the sport of fishing, and the love of the outdoors. The day will include instruction on fly tying, casting with a fly rod, and river ecosystems and ecology. There will also be some hands-on experience with trout.

Lunch will be provided as will all equipment for the day. Additional information will be provided with reservations. Parents are required to stay for the event.

There is no charge but advance reservations are required.

Space is limited to 36 children and their parents, and registrations will close on April 14.

To make a reservation contact Steve Zakur at 203-364-1336 or Steve.Zakur@cvtu.org, or fill out the online form at cvtu.org/about/youth-education-registration.
