NHS Cross Country Teams Win Winding Trails Invitational

Newtown High School's girls' and boys' cross country teams won their races at the Winding Trails Invitational, in Farmington, on September 24.

The girls were led by third-place overall finisher Lu Hage, who came across the finish line in a time of 19:45 and Erin Tressler, who was fourth in 19:57. Maddie Findley placed 11th in 20:17, Camille Johnson was 12th in 20:18, Lauren Russo came in 16th in 20:22, Willow Pears was 45th in a time of 21:59, and Althea Paynter was 54th in 22:15.

For the boys, Joel Duval was fourth in 16:43, and Newtown had an eight-nine-ten finish with Brenden Reeds coming across in 16:48, Ryan Escoda in 16:48, just fractions of a second behind, and Christian Lestik in a time of 16:53. Dylan Lew was 24th in 17:30, Josh Bent placed 26th in 17:42, and Joey Conrod was 57th in 18:36.
