DANBURY - The documentary Newtown will

be screened at AMC Loews Danbury 16 theater, 61 Eagle Road, on Wednesday, November 2, at 7:30 pm, as part of a program called "Newtown LIVE: A National Conversation." The screening will be followed by a live-streamed town hall style discussion about preventing gun violence.

Kim A. Snyder's film focuses on the aftermath of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School by following the families of some of the victims, first responders, teachers, clergy and residents. It was filmed over the course of nearly three years.

The film has a running time of 2 hours, 25 minutes.

It debuted earlier this year at Sundance Film Festival, where it was scheduled for six screenings between January 24 and 30.

Sundance Institute said: "The film revisits Newtown, Connecticut, three years after those events changed the town and its inhabitants forever, exploring the various ways that survivors have tried to endure, agitate for change, and further legacies of their lost loved ones."

Newtown had its Connecticut premiere in early June, when it was featured at Greenwich International Film Festival. The film was acquired in late June for theatrical distribution by Abramorama, an independent distribution and marketing company. It will, according to the Associated Press, eventually be aired on PBS.

Tickets for the Danbury screening are $15.90; guest passes and other special coupons will not be accepted for this screening.
