Newtown High School's girls' volleyball, soccer, and field hockey teams will compete in South-West Conference tournament action beginning Thursday, October 27. Admission for quarterfinal-round contests is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. The quarterfinal-round schedule is as follows:

*Thursday, October 27: Girls' volleyball - No. 1 Newtown hosts No. 8 New Fairfield at 5 pm.

*Friday, October 28: Boys' soccer - No. 6 Newtown visits No. 3 Notre Dame-Fairfield (at Veteran's Park in Bridgeport) at 3:30 pm.

*Saturday, October 29: Field hockey - No. 8 Newtown visits No. 1 Joel Barlow of Redding (100 Black Rock Turnpike) at noon.

*Saturday, October 29: Girls' soccer - No. 4 Newtown hosts No. 5 Joel Barlow, at Blue & Gold Stadium, beginning at 7 pm.

Semifinal dates: Girls' and boys' soccer on Tuesday, November 1; volleyball and field hockey on Wednesday, November 2.

Championship dates: Girls' and boys' soccer on Thursday, November 3; volleyball and field hockey on Friday, November 4.
