Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue’s 27th Annual George & Timothy Powell Golf Tournament, which serves as a fundraiser for the company, will be on Monday, July 21.
This year the tournament will have play at Newtown Country Club and Rock Ridge Country Club. These courses are both nine-hole, so golfers will be playing the course twice. Foursomes will be split between the two courses to accommodate everyone.
The golf will start promptly at 9 am with a “siren” start, rain or shine. A scramble format will be used.
Registration is $125 per golfer. This includes breakfast at the Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue main station beginning at 7:30 am, 18 holes of golf with a cart, and dinner at Newtown Country Club, including three-hour open bar (beer and wine). There will also be trophies and cash prizes, and a raffle with many different items up for bid.
Registration forms are available at the Sandy Hook main station, 18-20 Riverside Road, and are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registrations returned with full payment will be given preference unless other arrangements have been made. Forms are due by Friday, July 4.
