Sophie (Bajor) Brown, 88, of Shelton, died Friday, March 29, in her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Tulon Brown. She was born in Derby July 17, 1924, daughter of the late Mary and Martin Bajor, and was a Shelton resident for 63 years.
She was the beloved mother of Geraldine Brown, and her fiancé Milton Adams, of Newtown, Judy Salzano, and her husband Bob, of Ansonia, David Brown of Boston, and Richard Brown, and his wife Darlene, of Tallmadge, Ohio. Her sister Genevieve Sadlik; and sister-in-law and husband Mary Caroline and Donald Bridges also survive Ms Brown. She was the loving grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of three.
When she was younger, Ms Brown loved to knit and crochet afghans for her entire family. She loved to cook, especially pierogies.
Her family would like to thank her caregivers Alice Nesmith and Linda Komarowsky, and the staff of Masonic Care Home Health and Hospice of Brookfield.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 2, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Her funeral will leave the funeral home Wednesday, April 3, at 10:30 am, for a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11 am, in St Michael Church, Derby. Burial will follow in Mt St Peter Cemetery.
