William J. O’Donnell, 82, of Shelton, died March 19, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. Saccone O’Donnell. Born in Bridgeport, December 23, 1930, he was a son of William and Elsie Takacs O’Donnell.
In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, other survivors include his sisters Mary Mikita, and her husband Donald, of Newtown, Catherine LaFrance of East Haven, Carol LeBlanc, and her husband Lester, of Florida, Elsie Brunswick, and her husband Gilbert, of Shelton, a brother, John O’Donnell, and his wife Bonnie, of Florida; his daughters, Kim Dorsey and her husband, Rex, Lyn Abriola and her husband, Mark, and Lori Cascone, and her husband Joe; and his loving granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Robert and Charles; and a sister, Shirley.
Mr O’Donnell was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the retired operator and owner of Seamans Pharmacy of Monroe. He also enjoyed bowling and yard work. Mr O’Donnell also found great enjoyment attending his granddaughter’s basketball games. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will take place Friday, March 22, at 11:30 am, directly in St Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at a later date. There are no calling hours.
