Newtown resident Daniel Spencer and Sandy Hook resident Alex Israel were named on the fall  dean’s list at Syracuse (N.Y.) University.

Newtown and Sandy Hook residents were among the Upper School and Middle School students who received academic honors for the first semester at Chase Collegiate School, Waterbury. Faculty Honors is the highest academic honor reserved for students earning a 92 or above; High Honor students have earned an 88 or above; and Honor students have earned an 85 or above. In the Upper School, eleventh grader Adam Harrison earned Faculty Honors. High Honors were received by twelfth grader Stefan Dulling, tenth grader Megan Grimes, and ninth grader Brittany Antous.  Honors were awarded to senior Taylor Brady; junior Christie Ann Colavito; sophomores Joseph Praino and William Montgomery. Middle school students, grades six through eight, who received Honors were eighth grader Anna Harrison and sixth grader Avigayil Bialik.
