The Sandy Hook School Building Task Force will host its first public meeting on Friday, April 5. The group will be in the Council Chamber at Newtown Municipal Center, and plans to be in session from 7 until 9:30 pm.
According to the group’s agenda, the evening will include comments from First Selectman Pat Llodra; the introduction of Richard Harwood, a professional facilitator who has been hired by the Town of Newtown to guide officials through the process of examining options for the Sandy Hook School facility; an outline of the evening’s goals, which will include an understanding of the decision-making process, ground rules, and principles and criteria that will be used to make judgments moving forward.
The meeting will include a discussion of the insights gained from constituents earlier this year during public forums at Newtown High School as well as those held with SHS faculty and the families of those killed on 12/14.
There will also be a period for public comment on Friday, and a review of the goals for the group’s second meeting.
