*It’s been a few weeks since my last column, and I apologize for leaving everyone out of the loop with concert news.
KEITH URBAN will bring his Light The Fuse Tour 2013, with Little Big Town and special guest Dustin Lynch, to Mohegan Sun Arena for a pair of shows on Friday and Saturday, November 15-16. Tickets are $65 and $85, and will be going on sale Friday, April 5, at 10 am, though TicketMaster, and then at the casino on Saturday morning at 10.
*Mohegan Sun Arena will host FALL OUT BOY on September 5, and tickets will be going on sale this weekend. Tickets are $39 and will be available through TicketMaster.com and vendors on Saturday, April 6, at 10 am; the casino’s box office will be putting tickets on sale as well on Sunday, subject to availability.
*Tickets will also be going on sale Saturday morning for an August 31 show by MAROON 5, with special guest Kelly Clarkson, at The Comcast Theatre in Hartford. Tickets are $19.50 for the lawn, and run from $54 to $93.50 for seating, and will be available through LiveNation.
*Also, ZAC BROWN BAND has been confirmed for a September 1 show at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, but tickets are not going on sale this week as originally planned.
The show is confirmed, but a new on-sale date will be announced shortly, a representative from LiveNation confirmed earlier this week.
*Also this week, Ives Concert Park promoters made the first announcement for the 2013 Summer Concert Series. The Danbury venue, which announced a partnership earlier this year with The Bowery Presents, will host MOE. with THE WOOD BROTHERS on Saturday, June 1 (tickets are $20 lawn, $35 reserved seating); GOV’T MULE on Sunday, June 2 ($35 reserved, $20 lawn in advance, $25 lawn at the gate); TONY BENNETT on Saturday, July 13 ($36 lawn, $86 reserved); EVERCLEAR, LIVE, FILTER and SPONGE on Friday, July 19 ($20 lawn, $35 reserved); and BRANDI CARLISLE Saturday, July 20 ($25 lawn, $39.50 reserved).
A special two-show ticket has been created for the back-to-back moe. and Gov’t Mule shows on June 1-2. A reserved ticket for both nights will be $50 and a lawn ticket will be $30.
All shows are rain or shine and tickets for these five shows will go on sale at noon on Friday, April 5, at ticketmaster.com.
Additional shows and ticket sale dates are expected “soon,” according to an April 2 press release.
Music-lovers who subscribe to the Ives “Backstage Buzz” e-newsletter will have the opportunity to purchase tickets one day before they go on sale to the public. Visit www.IvesConcertPark.com to sign up.
*NAZARETH had been planning to bring its first tour of the US in five years to Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, June 26. The casino had even posted the show on its website and announced on March 11 that the show was on, with Deborah Bonham to be the evening’s special guest, and that tickets would be going on sale at the end of that week.
This week TicketMaster is listing that show as cancelled, however, and it has been pulled from Mohegan Sun’s website. No explanation is offered on the band’s official website, either.
*Meanwhile, tickets for the following shows have all been put on sale since my last column, and unless noted all are available through TicketMaster:
SHINEDOWN, with special guests Bush and Airbourne, at Mohegan Sun Area on May 3 (all seats $35); BOB SEGER & THE SILVER BULLET BAND, May 4, Mohegan Sun Arena ($75 and $95); ZZ TOP, May 8 at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford ($38 and $48); SOUNDGARDEN, May 17, also at the Oakdale (tickets $35-$75); MÖTLEY CRÜE, May 18 at Mohegan Sun Arena (tickets $59 and $79);

*Finally, for those who want to plan ahead, tickets for a June 15 MATCHBOX TWENTY and GOO GOO DOLLS co-headlining show at Mohegan Sun Arena on August 13 will be going on sale next Friday morning. Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.
