Anthony Victor Macri, 67, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully, February 22. He was born in Stamford, August 14, 1945, the son of Pasquale and Emma (Anderson) Macri.
Mr Macri was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed cutting firewood, helping people, and fixing just about anything. He could often be found at the local vineyard, planting a garden, watching the wildlife, and working and hunting on the property.
He worked as head mechanic for the Town of Bethel for many years, and for Tyree Organization in Brookfield. He specialized in repairing large trucks and machines.
His children Julie Macri Ralston of Southbury, Jason Macri of Bridgewater, T.J. Macri of Sandy Hook, and Dawn Macri of Wilton survive Mr Macri. His sister Rose Macri Holland of Newtown; brothers Joe and Frank Macri of Norwalk, and Paul Macri of New York; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins will also miss him. His brothers Jackie, Pat, and Carmine, and sisters Mary Alice Macri and Madeline Macri McAndrew predeceased Mr Macri.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life, Tuesday, March 5, from 5:30 to 8 pm, in the Alexandria Room of the Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown.
