JoAnne S. Morse, 76, of Grayson, Ga., formerly of Bethel, died September 9 after a gallant fight with kidney failure. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., to Marcelline Konseck Sessler and Leo Vincent Sessler.

Her devoted husband of 54 years, Thomas R. "Tom" Morse; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Morse-Miller and Keith Miller of Newtown; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Thomas "Rick" Morse and Donna Holcomb of Lilburn, Ga.; five grandsons, Nicholas, Kyle, Jack, and Matthew, all of Lilburn, and Keith Miller, Jr, of Dover Plains, N.Y.; one granddaughter, Abby Holcomb, of Lilburn.; sister, Kathi Fudesco of Beaufort, N.C.; brother, Ronald Sessler and wife, Chris, of Syracuse; brother-in-law, Robert Morse and wife, Linda, of Auburn, N.Y.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends survive her.

She was a 1958 graduate of West Genesee High School. Mrs Morse served as a teller at the Connecticut National Bank and was a regional director of the Girl Scouts in Plymouth, Mich. Her hobbies and favorite things to do were crafting, camping, and working with the Girl Scouts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family and impacting the lives of young women through the Girl Scouts.

Mrs Morse was of the Catholic faith and attended church until her health kept her from participating. Her family says, "She is with her Lord and Savior now, but will be deeply missed by her adoring family."

A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs Morse will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 6 pm, at Tom M. Wages Snellville (Ga.) Chapel with Deacon Michael Hayward serving as the celebrant. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 pm until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to The Humane Society, humanesociety.org.
