Jacqueline Sodoski

Jacqueline "Jackie" Pond Sodoski, 77, of Monroe died on July 18. She was born on July 15, 1939, in Bridgeport, and raised in Stratford. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Di-Menna Pond Thomas and Pond, and was the fourth of five children.www.stjude.org.www.pisteyfuneralhome.com to offer condolences.

Her dedicated and loving children Anthony Sodoski and wife, Isabel, of Newtown, Michele McFadden of Trumbull, Darla Sodoski of Ansonia, and Pamela Sodoski Gerolimatos of Fairfield; her loyal brother Michael Pond, of Stratford; and six cherished grandchildren survive her. Her sister Geraldine Pond and brothers Frederick and Thomas Pond predeceased her.

Mrs Sodoski was a 1957 graduate of Stratford High School, and as a mother of four children, graduated with her bachelor's degree from Mattituck Community College. She began her career as a dietary technician at Milford Hospital, and later in her career worked in the registrar's office at Sacred Heart University until her retirement.

She had been a Monroe town resident for the past 15 years and performed volunteer work at the Monroe Senior Center. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing board games with her grandchildren, and visiting friends, especially her weekly "Saturday breakfast" dates with her closest childhood friends.

Mrs Sodoski was a woman of devout faith and a parishioner of St Jude Church in Monroe.

She was a warm, loving, caring, and nurturing mother, and a true lifetime friend to all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 5 to 7:30 pm, Friday, July 22, at Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, followed by a prayer service to celebrate her life. Interment will be private.
