Horse Guard Trail Ride And Obstacle Course, May 7 At 2GHG

UPDATE (Wednesday, May 3, 2016): This event has been postponed due to the weather and trail conditions.

For anyone who has ever wanted to ride the trails at the Second Company Governor's Horse Guard (2GHG), along with those who look forward to an annual rite of spring, it's time to saddle up your horse and join the Second Horse for the Annual Spring Trail Ride and optional obstacle course. This year's event will be Saturday, May 7, on the scenic grounds of 2GHG (rain date May 8).

This rider favorite event will be held from 9 am to noon with registration forms available online at 

thehorseguard.org.

Sponsored by The Friends of 2GHG, the suggested per rider donation is $30 and all proceeds will go to the care of the horses of 2GHG.

H​elmets ​are required ​and riders under 18 years of age must have their registration form signed by a parent or guardian. All horses must have a negative Coggins certificate. There will not be any water crossings on this ride.

The Second Company Governor's Horse Guard is located at 4 Wildlife Drive in Newtown (Exit 11 off I-84). It is one of the oldest still active mounted cavalry units serving in the United States.
