George M. Lincoln, Jr, 81, of Newtown died November 28. He was born June 8, 1935, in East Orange, N.J.

He attended Cranford (N.J.) High School, Class of 1953, and Lehigh University, Class of 1957. His metallurgy degree led to a technical sales career and eventually management level responsibilities at the world headquarters of Union Carbide in Danbury. Throughout his career, he worked with various companies to help with special and unique applications of metals, titanium, nickle, tungsten, and other alloys.

The stories of his travels, sports, and connections with people filled his life and conversations with friends and family. Everyone who met him loved him for his humor and compassion. He had a competitive edge that ruled the racquetball court for many years at Club NewFit in Newtown.

Married 60 years to Elizabeth "Betty Lou" Farmer, they were high school sweethearts and yes, Prom King and Queen. They had three beautiful children, Paul, Leigh, and Amy, who married wonderful spouses Mary, Bill, and Patrick. In addition, they have four grandchildren, Brian, Robbie, Emma, and Kevin.

Mr Lincoln and his family spent most of their time together outside of Pittsburgh in Steeler Country. His last year was filled with a family reunion in Newtown, a week at the Jersey Shore in Sea Isle - where he body surfed, and an additional proud moment being inducted to the Cranford High School Sports Hall of Fame for track, basketball, and football. High school was a very special time and where he met the love of his life.

He leaves his family with many memories. His family says he will be missed dearly and will always be remembered with true love and admiration.
