State Representatives Mitch Bolinsky (R-106), J.P. Sredzinski (R-112) and Dan Carter (R-2) and State Senator Tony Hwang (R-28) are sponsoring a flag retirement drive in cooperation with VFW Newtown Post 308, June 1-13.

Residents are encouraged to drop off their worn American flags at drop boxes at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street; or Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street.

Collected flags will be brought to the VFW Post 308 for proper retirement.

Flags can also be dropped off throughout the year at VFW Post 308, Freedom Defenders Way (18 Tinkerfield Road); and at the offices of Bee Publishing Company, Inc., 5 Church Hill Road.

For more information contact Reps Bolinsky, Sredzinski or Carter at 800-842-1423 or Sen Hwang at 800-842-1421.

VFW Post 308 Men's Auxiliary President Robert Arnold spoke at a flag retirement ceremony at the post on Flag Day 2014. The post is planning a similar ceremony for this year, and is inviting residents to drop off flags that should be retired at a number of local collection pointed before June 13. (Bee file photo)
