Eric Mackie, 89, the husband of Christina (Scott) Mackie, died peacefully December 3 in Southbury. He was born August 20, 1925, in Aberdeen, Scotland, and was the son of the late Lizzie (McDonald) and George Mackie. 

He moved to the United States in 1953, and later he and his wife settled in Ossining, N.Y., where they lived for 50 years. They recently moved to Newtown, to be near family.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 57 years; two daughters, Muriel Wielebinski, and her fiancé Vincent Burdo, of Sandy Hook and Linda Mackie Kliczewski, and her husband Ed, of Trumbull; his son, Gordon Mackie, and wife Jennifer, of Somers, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Scott Kliczewski, Matthew Wielebinski, Nicole Wielebinski, Adam Wielebinski, Ellie Rinaldi, and Jack Mackie.

Mr Mackie worked for various companies over the years as a draftsman for steel bar reinforcement. 

He enjoyed soccer and attended two World Cup Games series. He also enjoyed tennis, badminton, and dancing.
