The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary (CVHAS) will host three workshops this weekend, all in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street in Newtown.

The first, from 11 am until noon, will be Rabbits 101. Members of Rabbit House Society will present an interactive and informative workshop geared toward those who want to learn more about bunnies, especially those who may be thinking about bringing one into their home.

From noon until 1:30, members of Audubon Center at Bent of the River will lead Meet Connecticut Woodpeckers. This session will be a fun, hands-on activity aimed at teaching participants about Connecticut's beautiful woodpeckers.

Then from 2 to 3 pm, artist Kim Hossler will lead Hearts in Art. Students will be encouraged to let their love and creative spirit shine through while, under the guidance of Ms Hossler, they draw unique native animals from heart shapes.

Participants may register for multiple workshops. The art session is limited to 15 students, but an additional session may be added if there is enough interest.

To register, parents are asked to email their child(ren)'s name and which session they will be attending to info@CVHFoundation.org.

Donations for the animal sanctuary will be gratefully accepted.
