Carole (Rydberg) Krasowski, 69, a resident of Sandy Hook since 1973, died June 27 in Danbury. She was the wife of Frank Krasowski and a loving mother to Frank Krasowski III, Traci Krasowski Smith and Paul Krasowski.

Ms Krasowski was born in Bridgeport, on August 26, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Karl and Olga Scherbach Rydberg. She attended Bridgeport Central High School (Class of 1964), where she met her sweetheart and future husband, Frank. The two were married at Bridgeport Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church in 1967, after Frank completed his service in the United States Navy.

Ms Krasowski and Frank briefly lived in Stratford before settling down in their present home in Sandy Hook, where they raised their three children.

She graduated from Butler Business School, and she was employed by General Electric in Bridgeport and later The Taunton Press in Newtown. For most of her children's formative years, she was a stay-at-home mother.

Known by all as the consummate good neighbor, active parishioner, supportive friend and, most importantly, an exceptionally active and devoted mother to her children and grandchildren, she brought joy and support to many.

Ms Krasowski, affectionately known as "Mrs K.," is remembered by the children who grew up on Cherry Heights Terrace in Sandy Hook as a mother to all the neighborhood kids, as well as to her children's friends, who regularly traipsed through their home.

Ms Krasowski remained exceptionally close with her children, despite the distant cities to which they relocated. She and Frank routinely traveled up and down the east coast to pay visits to them or to pick them up at the airports in and around western Connecticut when they returned.

Her grandchildren adored her and her games of Go Fish and bocce ball, and completing puzzles, as well as the warmed towels she provided as they exited the pool after swimming, which was a frequent activity to look forward to at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Ms Krasowski was the grandmother of storybook ideals: selfless, doting and always loving. In her later years, she  developed interests in gardening and birdwatching, and she was also an avid player of the online game Words With Friends.

She died peacefully, with Frank, the love of her life, and her three children by her side.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown on Thursday, June 30, from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 1, at 1 pm at Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, 1535 East Main Street, Bridgeport. Burial will be at St Rose of Lima Cemetery, Sandy Hook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Father Kivko Scholarship Fund at Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, PO Box 55339, Bridgeport CT 06610-5339.
