C.H. Booth Library is hosting the following business events in January of interest to business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs:

Join others in the entrepreneurial, home office, and small business community Tuesday, January 12, from noon to 1 pm, and hear Hilda Maria Valdespino, president and founder of Inspired Learning, present “Maximizing Your Networking Experience.”

This program will address both common networking pitfalls. Learn how to increase networking efforts by truly connecting with people to create a strong relationship, and learn a system for focusing networking follow-up efforts to maximize results.

Bring lunch and business cards; no registration is necessary.

Then on Wednesday, January 27, “It’s Not Just Business As Usual” will serve as a special small business open house. The event will run from 8 to 9 am in the library’s meeting room.

Guests will learn about new initiatives and resources at the library to serve small businesses, home-based workers, and entrepreneurs in Newtown, including:

*Monthly Brown Bag Business Hour of networking and educational opportunities;

*Business meeting space featuring Skype and other virtual communication tools;

*The Virtual Small Business Development Center;

*Many print and online business resources; and

*The product development potential of the library’s 3D printer and maker space area.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored in partnership with the Newtown Economic Development Commission, the Women’s Business Development Council, and the Connecticut Small Business Development Council.
