Alma H. Signore

Alma H. (Bass) Signore, 94, the devoted wife of the late Stephen J. Signore, died peacefully January 17, at Birmingham Health Center in Derby. She was born on January 10, 1922, in Covington, Ky., and was a daughter of the late Clarence and Amanda (Treiling) Bass. Mrs Signore was the mother to Joanne Didonato, a longtime employee of the Newtown School System.

Mrs Signore worked as a stitcher at Uniroyal, Inc for 20 years. She was a member of the Mt Carmel Forever Young Society and the Prospect Senior Center. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards with friends, and trips to the casino.

In addition to her daughter Joanne and her husband, Russ, her grandchildren Jason Signore, Jessica Williams and her husband, Clarence, Stephanie Murzin and her husband, Dan, Diane Ferkle, and Dean Ragland survive Mrs Signore. Her son Stephen P. Signore; grandson Andrew Didonato; brothers Omer Bass, Norbert Bass, and Franklin "Skeets" Bass; and her sisters Louise Bass, Mary Ellen Seligman, Ida Mae Brown, Bernadina Stith, and Virginia Zess predeceased her.

The funeral took place January 20. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
