Absentee Voting For Nov 7 Election
Absentee Voting For Nov 7 Election
Â
Town Clerk Cindy Simon advises Newtown voters that absentee ballots are available for the state election to be held in Newtown on November 7, 2000. Any qualified registered voter may vote by absentee if unable to vote in person due to illness or physical disability; absence from town during voting hours; religious beliefs which forbid secular activity; active US military service; and service as an election official at polling place other than his/her own polling place.
College students, Armed Forces personnel, and any other people unable to vote in person are urged to obtain absentee ballot applications as soon as possible so that the ballots meet the deadline process.
The applications for absentee ballots are available in the Town Clerkâs Office Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and can be obtained in person or by mail. Special hours for absentee voting will be held on Saturday, November 4, from 9 am to noon at the Town Clerkâs Office, 45 Main Street, in Edmond Town Hall. If you should have any questions regarding absentee ballots, contact the town clerkâs office at 270-4210.
