To the Editor:

This year, our parade theme was the very appropriate "There's No Place Like Home." This theme has echoed in town this fall as we also welcomed home our Sandy Hook School students and staff and celebrated the opening of the new Newtown Hook & Ladder firehouse. What better way to continue the theme that reminds us of why Newtown is such a special place other than the 6th Annual Passport to Sandy Hook on Saturday, October 8, from 11 am to 4 pm?

This is one of my favorite events of the year that brings together Newtown and neighboring residents for music, dancing, good food, and shopping. Come down and join us for a few hours and help us support our local merchants and their shops. Prizes this year for visiting every merchant are valued at more than $3,000. Discover places you've never seen before and make them part of your regular shopping and dining experience. Look forward to seeing you there.
