St Rose Runners Were On Track This Spring

St Rose track and field team participants enjoyed a successful spring in which the junior varsity team won its division of the league championship meet.
The St Rose track and field team completed a successful second season recently. The fledgling team competed in a full parochial league schedule, the O'Grady Relays, the New Fairfield Flash Invitational, and multiple meets against the Newtown Hawks Middle School team.
St Rose also hosted its first track meet, with more than 200 participants, at Newtown High. While the varsity team was in a rebuilding year after winning the parochial league championships in 2008, the junior varsity team won its division of the parochial league championship meet.
