An Education To Remember

To the Editor:
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the Newtown Citizens police academy. If you haven't heard about it, or have and never thought of signing up, I highly recommend doing so. It's free. You don't need to have an interest in becoming a police office to participate. All you need to do is commit to one evening a week for ten weeks. You'll be surprised what you'll learn and what you'll walk away with — an appreciation for the men and women of the Newtown Police Department.
Sgt Dominic Costello who runs the class is the best. I learned a wealth of knowledge. Sgt Costello's professionalism, not to mention his entertaining personality, coupled with the weekly speakers, who were absolutely amazing, made it one of the most fun experiences I've ever had. It's a free education and one you will remember.
Thanks to everyone involved for the great experience and please check The Newtown Bee for the next session.
