Loving Mother And Grandmother
Elizabeth "Betty" Marino, 92, of Newtown, previously of Oxford, died February 12, surrounded and comforted by her loving family. Born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., January 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Leland Bayles and Sarah Lecretia Killmer Bayles.
Four devoted children, including Karin and Wayne Hooper of Sandy Hook; ten cherished grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra survive Mrs Marino. Her husband and soul mate of 68 years, Joseph Marino, predeceased her, as did a grandson.
The Marinos lived in Bridgeport for more than 40 years, and then Oxford for the next 20 years. She was a homemaker, and was active in the Derby and Ansonia Senior Centers.
Funeral services are private. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial gathering in celebration of her life, Sunday, March 18, at 1 pm, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Carol Marino, 3 Peters Lane, Shelton.
The family wishes to give special thanks to all the staff on 2C, at the Masonic Home of Newtown for their care and compassion provided over the last three years; as well as the Masonic Home Hospice Team who ensured her comfort and dignity in her last days.
