Hawleyvill PO Back In Business

 

Longtime Hawleyville residents Bob and Edie Tschorn were delighted to locate and open, for the first time, their new mailbox at the relocated Hawleyville Post Office, 23 Barnabas Road, Monday morning, March 15. The Tschorns were among the first to greet postmaster Mark Favale and staff Laura Smolen and Rich Ruscitto when the facility reopened Monday after a 13-month temporary closure. Postmaster Favale can be seen in the background, right, visiting with Charles Speidel, a member of the Save Hawleyville Post Office committee. Cake and coffee were served Monday morning. The public is also invited for the first day-end closing of the new post office. The Hartford branch of the United States Postal Service will be sending a delegate to officiate a bell closing ceremony at 4:30 Monday afternoon.
