Eleanor Hannan Davis, 83, of Bethel, died peacefully December 2 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Eleanor May Hall in Sharon, Conn., in 1933. A daughter of the late Mildred and Donald Hall, she grew up in Kent, where she would return later in life.

Her children and spouses, Jane and James Maher of Newtown, Barbara and Richard Eimicke of Southbury, Peter and Alicia Hannan of Texas, Elizabeth and Walter Andrews of Lecanto, Fla., William and Anita Hannan of New Milford, and Matthew and Heather Hannan of Kent, survive Mrs Davis. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother Walter Hall and his wife, Carol, of Kent; and her sister Donna Hall of East Hartford.

In 1953 she married John "Jack" Murray Hannan of Danbury. Together, they raised six children, spending many summers and making wonderful memories at their beach home in Scarborough, Maine. He passed away in 1987, and Mrs Hannan then embarked on new adventures. She was especially proud to have received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Connecticut State University in 1993, at the age of 60. She was lucky enough to find love a second time with Charles "Charlie" Robert Davis, whom she married in 1994. They lived in Kent, but traveled the world, spending time with their many children and grandchildren. Mr Davis passed away in 2006, and Mrs Davis later moved to Bethel in order to be closer to her family.

Family and friends may call on Monday, December 5, from 4 to 7 pm, at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, with a funeral service to be held at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 1579 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury CT 06762.
